At a time of Nothingness, there was only God and the Holy Spirit. The two were one and chaos laid before them. God decided that Nothing could get in the way of him and his Love; he wouldn’t let it be. Instead, they shared Everything and therefore Nothing was cast all around them. They were surrounded by darkness.

“God, why can’t I see you?” The Holy Spirit asked. “The darkness swallows the sky and casts shadows on your face.”

“Why do you wish to see me? I’m the same God I have always been. Nothing has changed.”

“I Love you. I want to enjoy every part of you.”

“Love is blind. You have seen me in every way. Nothing has changed.”

“Why won’t you reveal yourself to me in all your glory so that I can praise you?”

“Worship me with a grateful heart. I don’t require duty from you. You have all of me.”

“If I have all of you, I want Nothing to be between us. If you love me, I deserve Everything.”

God sighed. There were things the Holy Spirit did not understand about Nothing and Everything. Nothing was darkness, space, chaos, time. Everything included death, pain, long suffering, and other displeasures God sought to keep his Love away from.

“There are things you do not understand.”

“Things you refuse to explain.”

“One day, in time you’ll see.”

This is a creative writing sample Ms. Rachel S. Fletcher wrote for her students in Mythology class as they all wrote their origin stories. Rachel began her creative writing career at the age of 8 years old while she was in elementary school in Decatur, GA. She spent the better part of her professional career as an educator in Metro Atlanta. Now, she spends her time asking God for more, longing for abundance just as the Holy Spirit did.

In the fall of 2017, Rachel started planning and thinking ahead.

Rachel’s Remote Services was founded as a tutoring business in 2018. Rachel worked with young people to provide them with tutoring in Literacy and Math and consulting for careers and college.

Rachel is a little boss baby, so naturally she would put her two-cents in when networking and discussing business with friends, family, and community stakeholders. She’s been unofficially consulting since 2013. In fact, while she attended Kennesaw State University, she would return to her alma mater to teach courses about college and career options, including financial aid and what to do to find your path.

All of that led to a soft launch in 2020, where we launched more service offerings for adults and entrepreneurs.

In 2022, we launched our services on Thumbtack. We rebranded to Rachel’s Remote Services, combining tutorials and teaching services with corporate training services and business consulting. Now, we offer services that help advance minority-owned businesses and equip them with the training and a solid foundation to launch their organizations.

Here at Rachel’s Remote Services, our mission is to bring dreams to life by providing technical and professional writing, coordinating, and consulting services.
